FAQ
What is a big bang?
A big bang is an event where writers and artists collaborate. Writers will produce a fic, and artists will produce a piece to accompany the fic. Many big bangs are centered around a character, ship, or theme, and in this case, the subject is of course Aizawa Shouta from BNHA!
What is the theme of this bang?
Our theme is appreciation!
Am I required to follow the theme?
Nope! Our theme is to help people find inspiration if they need it, but it is completely optional.
What mediums of art are allowed?
Our minimum requirement is that artists produce one illustration per summary they claim. Illustrations can be traditional or digital, whichever you prefer. If you plan on traditional illustration, we ask that you be able to provide a good quality scan of your work for posting. We did get a question on our interest check about whether animation is an acceptable medium and our answer is yes! Keep in mind, the creation period will be four months, but if you think you can complete an animation during that period, go for it!
Is this a SFW or NSFW event?
We allow both SFW and NSFW content. Creators must be 18+ to produce sexual NSFW content and 16+ to produce non-sexual NSFW content (i.e. works that are M or E for explicit violence/gore). Sexual NSFW summaries will only be shown to 18+ artists and betas, and non-sexual NSFW summaries will only be shown to 16+ artists and betas.
Why are there distinct 16+ and 18+ categories?
While we do not want to share explicit sexual content with minors, we recognize that Aizawa's character and narrative lend themselves o content that may be suitable for older teens but too mature to be rated T or G on AO3. To provide 16+ creators with the creative freedom to explore those topics and protect -16 participants from being exposed to them, we have decided that 16+ creators will be able to create non-sexual M or E content.
Is shipping content allowed?
Absolutely! We welcome both gen and shipping content, so ship away!
What kind of content is NOT allowed?
We allow most content, as long as it is properly tagged, but we have a few hard rules:
no adult/minor ships
no teacher/student ships, including where the student is aged up
no non-con
Are there any requirements for joining?
Our only requirement is that participants MUST be 13 years or older. We encourage writers, artists, and betas of all skill levels to join us, and everyone who applies will be accepted!
Can I sign up for multiple roles?
Yes! If you want to, you are welcome to sign up as a writer and artist, a writer and beta, an artist and a pinch hitter, etc., with a maximum of three projects.
What is a pinch hitter?
A pinch hitter is someone who steps in late to fill a spot if an artist, writer, or beta drops after teams have been made.
Can I sign up with a partner/team?
Yes! You may sign up with a team, be it a writer-artist pair, a writer-beta pair, or a full writer-artist-beta team. We will provide a place on the application to indicate that.
